On January 1, 1926, Leo Bucher Steinmann took over the glass trading business of the Keizer family from Cham. Since 1963 the company headquarter is on Grienbachstrasse, and is still owned by the Bucher family today. Currently it has eight employees and is managed by Managing Director Stefan Plönnes since the summer of 2019.

Glasi Zug is the first address in central Switzerland on the left bank of Lake Zurich for consulting, delivery and assembly of indoor and outdoor glass solutions and custom-made glass products.

Installation of Showers at Mountaintop Restaurant Fronalpstock, Stoos

Our task was to equip all hotel rooms with new showers in the Mountaintop Restaurant Fronalpstock on the Stoss mountain. In consultation with the site manager, we developed an individual solution for toilet doors and doors for showers and washbasins to allow for the widest possible access.

Assembly was a special challenge for us because glas panels and tools were packed in boxes and had to be transported to the summit by the Stoosbahn and the chairlift. Quite the adventure for our fitters - in good weather and with an exceptional view.

New general manager

Glasi Zug AG informs you about various news in our company.

Our valued, long-standing employee and previous project manager, Mr. Stefan Plönnes, will take over the responsibilities of the general manager from July 1, 2019 forward. We don’t think he needs further introduction - he is competent, reliable and loyal.

Our new project manager is Mr. Otmar Krummenacher. Mr. Krummenacher is new to the glass industry, but has 15 years of experience as the manager of a joinery. We believe that Mr. Krummenacher will quickly get acquainted with the glass industry and we are confident to have made a great choice with him.

Mr. Eric Bucher, who has worked in various functions in our family business for over 30 years, will retire from the operational management of the company on July 1st, 2019 for health reasons. He will of course make his vast experience available to the new management team.

Ms. Myrta Bucher, responsible for commercial matters, will gradually hand over her tasks. She will continue with several activities from her home office.

We are convinced that the new management team will continue to provide the excellent services that you are used to. We are looking forward to further great projects with you!
